The Timeline - When does all this happen?

The Town of Apex in 2007 approved a Planned Unit Development (PUD) at the site of Veridea as a traditional, planned-unit development that will serve as the baseline for the future sustainable development of the community. More than 1,000 acres have been assembled or are in the process of being obtained.

During 2008 and 2009, the development team has refined the sustainability agenda to determine which items are practicable today, and which ones may be practicable in the future. This ongoing analysis informs a reworking of the original site plan in order to accommodate a flexible, forward-thinking development.

Permitting and design continues in 2009, leading to a Sustainable Development Plan for Veridea that will accommodate 10 million square feet of office development, 3.5 million square feet of mixed-use retail and commercial space, 2 million square feet of high-tech manufacturing, and 8,000 residential units. The first phase of $50 to $60 million of core infrastructure is scheduled in 2010-2011. The Western Wake Expressway is scheduled to open in late 2012.
